At LINED, we are dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge machine learning algorithms to identify university students who may be at risk of dropping out. Empowerment
We work with universities providing them with our algorithm, so that they can find students at risk of struggling academically, and take action.
Our base algorithm works using information about the circumstances of each student, along with their academic performance, and spits out a prediction of whether they will drop out of school or not.
In the case the prediction is a dropout, the model also suggests which factor is the main cause of the potential struggles. This is important when helping the students, since each case is caused by different circumstances.
At LINED, we understand how costly false positives, and especially, false negatives can be. For this reason, we have strived for near excellence in our model, achieving a algorithm that is able to detect 95% of all dropout cases.

Finally, we also give universities the option to customize the model, including features chosen by them, and training a new algorithm using their own data.
